ON SITE COURSES: Techniques for usability testing
COURSE OBJECTIVES: The course gives you the capability to employ different usability techniques, according to the phase of development, the risk management and resource optimization. You will understand how to plan and report activities. You will also learn how to implement the reporting documents, through comments to the standard, hands on examples and explanations.
TOPICS: The course will show how the usability process can be used in the different stages of the devices lifecycle. For early stages of design, the following topic will be addressed: formative evaluation, integration within a risk management process and the use of focus group technique. For more advanced design and Regulatory purposes: summative evaluation, inclusion within the medical device technical documentation and the meaning of task analysis.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?: QA/RA managers, Designers, Risk management experts, consultants. Prior knowledge and experience on design, ISO 13485 and ISO 14971.
TRAINER: Alice Ravizza is a seasoned biomedical engineer, consultant and trainer for regulatory, quality and design controls for medical devices. She has experience in co/design for usability in multiple medical devices, of all regulatory risk classes and various technologies and is the author of numerous peer-reviewed papers regarding usability and of the Italian Guidelines for Usability issued by the Italian Biomedical Industry Association. She holds 8 patents and founded Use-me-d srl, a startup dedicated to usability and human error mitigation.
DELIVERABLES: Certificate will be provided following completion of course.
